Today I have travelled to a Quaker community in Bamford with some CoDA fellows.
It’s a lovely place, set in some idyllic countryside just insider the Derbyshire boarder with Yorkshire.
I’m pretty tired right now, as I was up relatively early. It was a really pleasant trip up with Paul and PJ and I’m really pleased to be here, but my energy dropped at about 3pm and I’ve retreated a little into myself as the afternoon/evening has gone on.
This is OK though, as I’m with people who know what it’s like and it’s an opportunity for me to practice being myself again, around other people.
It must be about 2 months since I visited Caldey Island, so this is again another test of me, not quite in my comfort zone.
I’m really interested to learn more about the Quaker life and to just experience some peace and oneness with nature and the natural surroundings.
Roll on tomorrow 🙂
